Alex Owen PhD, MA, BTh - Senior Lecturer in Children & Families Work
Alex Owen joined the Oasis College staff in 2008. She has a first class honours degree in Christian Life and Ministry, majoring in Children’s Work and Ministry, from London School of Theology and a Master of Arts in Youth Ministry and Theological Education, from King’s College London. Alex recently achieved her PhD from London School of Theology, which focused on the impact of Church based groups upon young people’s identity formation.
Alex enjoys teaching on a number of modules at Masters and Undergraduate level in youth, children’s and family support work; she has responsibility for leading on the children’s and family support work subject area. Alex has worked with and ministered to young people for over 15 years, most recently as Assistant Minister at Stanmore Baptist Church, where she had primary responsibility for children and youth.
Alex is regularly involved in writing for various publications and speaks at a number of Christian conferences. She has two little girls called Grace and Bella. Alex enjoys her family, her friends, photography, the sunshine, people with passion and creativity.
