Could Emily ‘Work’ for You?

Emily is a single parent Emily's case studyfrom the suburbs of London and wants to study to learn more about ministering effectively to children. She has been active in her local Baptist church and has volunteered working with children there for some time, but now wants to take this further.

Her church is small and has collaborated with another local Christian charity who run mum and toddler groups in the community to allow for sufficient finances and experience to be provided for Emily as a placement.

The two agencies work together to offer Emily regular practice experience and pay here placement fee and travel costs. As Emily will be a full-time student and she qualifies for a student loan and help towards child care as a single parent. She feels this finance will give her sufficient living expenses during her studies. Her mum will help with some child care and this is to be coupled with an after school club run by the charity at a reduced rate.
