Oasis are for people and we are for community. In all we do we want to serve people and build inclusive communities - where everyone is accepted and valued. You might also say that we act as a physical oasis for people or communities too. We don’t believe in creating a place out of touch with reality, but sometimes we all need somewhere to re-group and prepare for the next stage of the journey. This is why you'll see our logo with 'for people and community' written underneath it - and as you can see it works on two levels - clever!
Our work in the UK is focussed around what we like to call 'hubs'. These are areas of activity in which we provide integrated and diverse services in order to benefit the whole person and the whole community. You can see where our hubs are at www.oasisuk.org/uk/
You will also find Oasis working hard in eleven countries across five continents, with some of the world’s poorest and most marginalised communities. There’s a groovy map at www.oasisuk.org/world/
In recent years, Oasis has also set up new organisations and partnerships:
Oasis Community Learning (www.oasiscommunitylearning.org)
Oasis Community Learning is the umbrella governing body for all the Oasis Academies. OCL is part of the Oasis Group in the UK and from this site you can visit the websites of each of the Oasis Academies.
Church.co.uk Network (www.church.co.uk)
Church.co.uk Network is a growing network of churches that are both different and make a difference, by working out what Oasis believes being a hub for the community really means.
Faithworks (www.faithworks.info)
The Faithworks movement now has over 20,000 members including individuals, churches and organisations all motivated by their faith to serve the needs of their local communities.
STOP THE TRAFFIK (www.stopthetraffik.org)
People trafficking is one of the worlds fastest growing illegal industries. STOP THE TRAFFIK is our repsonse to this appauling trade.
