How much does it cost to study at Oasis College?
The exact fee for you course will depend on the award you are applying for at Oasis College and whether you choose to study full or part-time. Our awards are divided in to four categories and the tuition fee relates to individual awards.
- Foundation Awards – this is our ‘short course’ programme leading to certificates of credit; or a University Foundation Diploma through a combination of short courses.
Fees for these awards are charged per short course (also referred to as a module). The average tuition fee for each course is £195.00, although some courses involve more teaching days and the fee may be slightly higher if this is the case. The current fee for each course is listed on the individual foundation course pages. You will be asked who is paying your fee when you apply for the course and you (or your employer/sponsor) will be invoiced by the College for the full fee at the beginning of the course – the fee must be paid by the completion of the course for your to qualify for accreditation. - Undergraduate Awards – these are full and part-time awards leading to a BA (Hons) Degree and take a minimum of 3 years full time study to complete.
Fees for these awards are charged per year for full-time students and per module for part-time students. The full time tuition fee for 2012-13 is £5990.00. This is a subsidised tuition fee as all students are required to be in a main fieldwork placement throughout the programme and the placement pays a bursary to the College that allows us to reduce the standard tuition fee charge which averages £8500.00 at many Universities. Most placements will also support students through subsidising accommodation and transport to and from College. Student tuition fees are subject to annual increases and you should expect your fee to increase year-on-year at least in line with inflation. Most students will qualify for a tuition fee loan and grants through Student Finance England and for a maintenance loan/grant towards living costs. This means that very few students need to pay any tuition fees up-front and will not begin repayments until they earn above £21,000.00 per annum; repayments on loans are calculated at 9% of income above £21,000.00 (this equates to £6.92 a week if you earn £25,000.00 a year). Tuition fees for full-time undergraduate awards are collected by Staffordshire University through the student loans system or from you if paying personally. Part-time students will be invoiced directly by the College.
